子宮頸癌之新型生物標誌：PAX1基因
根據先前臨床研究指出，基因甲基化是偵測子宮頸重度上皮內贅瘤或子宮頸癌相當有潛力之生物標誌，惟需進一步探討甲基化基因應用於子宮頸癌篩選檢測上之可能性。為此，本公司與阮綜合醫院簡婉儀顧問醫師及高雄榮民總醫院廖正義醫師合作臨床試驗。
試驗結果顯示，PAX1基因可做為篩檢子宮頸癌的生物標誌，且與抹片檢測結合使用後，更可獲得良好的篩選功效。
此外，此組合減少高達60%的非必要性陰道鏡檢查或病理切片1。

New Taipei City, June 19th, 2014. iStat Biomedical Co., Ltd. (iStat Co.), publishes clinical performance of PAX1 methylation in detecting cervical cancer in International journal of gynecological cancer 1.
A preliminary multicenter clinical study indicated that gene methylation is a potential biomarker for the detection of severe cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) or cervical cancer, but further research is needed to explore the feasibility of applying methylated genes as cervical cancer screening test. To this end, iStat Biomedical conducted clinical trial cooperated with Dr. Yuen-Yee Kan of Yuan's General Hospital, Kaohsiung, and Dr. Cheng-I Liao of Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital.
The test results showed that the PAX1 can be used as a biomarker for screening cervical cancer, and when PAX1 is used incorporated with Pap smear screening, it can achieve a good screening effect. In addition, this combination reduces unnecessary colposcopy or pathological biopsy by up to 60% 1.
